Multiple outlets report that Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is considering a run for governor to succeed Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Newsom is term-limited and cannot run in the 2026 gubernatorial election.

According to Punchbowl News, Swalwell is expected to make a decision in the coming weeks.
